Autism: The Journey Back, Recovering the self through Heilkunst
By: Rudi Verspoor and Patty Smth

This book is obviously about treating autism through Heilkunst. But it turns out to be a description of Heilkunst as seen while addressing the ever-increasing phenomenon known as autism.
Heilkunst is Rudi's creation as an extension of Elmiger's work and a re-reading of Hahnemann and other homeopaths. Since its inception, it has been the target of repeated attacks, too often by people who do not have the beginning of a clue of what Heilkunst is about, as witnessed over the years on many e-mail discussion forums.
Now here is an opportunity to read in fewer than 200 pages about the basics of Heilkunst, what it is and how it is supposed to work. Once you have read this book, then you are on firm ground to either accept it, criticize it or research it.
Autism is reviewed with regard to its classification, its possible causes, with a good input on the effects of vaccines and with plenty of references; then, through multiple cases as seen in the clinic and as read from the parent's reports, the effect of the Heilkunst treatment is described.
If you are a practitioner, do not expect any information on how to treat autism: for this you will have to study Heilkunst, but at least you will have a better understanding of what it is.
Its main appeal would be for parents of autistic children as a demonstration that there are ways to cure them; and one of the ways is through Heilkunst, as reported here. It's essentially a very thick advertisement pamphlet but still loaded with good basic information and especially hope.
