Commentary

"Loosely based on Ruddock's Domestic Physician," this book follows the general outline of other domestic manuals. When discussing "Ailments and Diseases" several codes are used to suggest conditions where emergency help is needed now, where one should consult a physician if no improvement is seen in two hours, etc. Another book with a wide double standard. Many of the categories (such as Bulimia, Manic Depression, Pneumothorax, Parkinson's) have suggestions for remedial self-help, although it is mentioned that a medical practitioner might be consulted.
